Questions and answers
How Sagori uses AI, what happens to the coaching knowledge you share, who controls it, and how we keep it connected to the coaches it came from.
Sagori and AI
- How does Sagori use AI?
- Sagori uses AI to work with the coaching knowledge coaches bring into the platform. It pulls the insights out of source material, turns activity insights into editable drill plans, and finds the relevant published knowledge to help build sessions. Coaches review what is created and decide what gets approved and shared.
- Does the AI make up drills?
- Sagori builds from coaching knowledge that coaches have brought into the platform. AI can turn an activity insight into an editable drill plan, but the coaching idea comes from the coach. Where a plan draws on another coach’s published knowledge, you can see which coach it came from and which insights were used.
- Does Sagori replace the coach?
- No. Sagori is not an AI coach. It has never seen your players, it does not know your pitch, and it has no idea what happened at training last week. It can help you build a session. You decide what works for your players.
- Does AI decide what gets published?
- No. AI can read, extract and generate, but a coach decides what is right. The insights AI pulls out come back to the coach to review, and nothing is shared with other coaches until the coach has approved and published it.
Your knowledge in Sagori
- What happens to the content I share?
- Sharing content with Sagori is not handing it over. Sagori turns what you share into separate coaching insights and brings them back to you for review. You can edit them, approve them or reject them. Nothing is published until you approve it, and anything you publish can be unpublished again.
- What can I bring into Sagori?
- You can bring in coaching material you already have, such as PDFs, videos and session plans, or use the AI Interview to talk through how you coach.
- What happens to footage I share?
- Footage you share is source material. Sagori can identify the activity being coached and the coaching insights within it. You can also attach your own photograph or clip to an activity, for coaches to see when they use your published content.
Your content and your rights
- Who owns the coaching knowledge I contribute?
- Your coaching knowledge remains yours. Sharing it with Sagori does not transfer ownership of your original material to us.
- Can I contribute material I’ve already created?
- Yes. You can contribute existing PDFs, videos, session plans and other material, provided you have the rights or permission needed to use and share it through Sagori.
- What about knowledge I share through the AI Interview?
- The same principle applies. Only share coaching knowledge and material you’re entitled to contribute.
- What if some material came from a club or organisation I’ve worked with?
- Only contribute it if you have the necessary rights or permission to do so. If you’re unsure, don’t publish that material until you’ve established that you can use it.
- What happens when I publish something?
- Publishing makes an insight available to the coaches who subscribe to you, or to your club’s members if you filed it to a club library.
- What happens to what I filed to a club if I leave?
- It stays in the club’s library with your name on it, so the club can keep using it. You also get your own copy of what you wrote, unless the club has made its library club-only. If it has, you keep a list of what you wrote.
- What if someone disputes the rights to some content?
- They can raise it with us using the form below. Where there is a genuine rights concern, Sagori may restrict or remove the affected content while it is dealt with.
- What happens if someone repeatedly contributes material they shouldn’t?
- Where there is a genuine rights concern, we may restrict or remove the affected content while it is dealt with.
Sharing and attribution
- Who can see what I contribute?
- Bringing knowledge into Sagori does not publish it. Until you approve and publish an insight, it is only used in your own plans. Once you publish it, coaches who subscribe to you can plan with it. If you filed it to a club library, only that club’s members can. Sagori staff can also see content, to support you and look after the platform.
- What happens when another coach uses my knowledge?
- When another coach’s plan draws on your published knowledge, they can see which coach it came from and which insights were used.
- Does Sagori remove my name when AI uses my knowledge?
- No. The point is not to turn coaching knowledge into anonymous AI output. When a plan draws on your knowledge, it names you as the coach it came from.
- Can I unpublish something?
- Yes. Unpublish an insight and it stops being used in new plans straight away. Sessions people have already saved keep the version they were built with.
AI and your data
- Does Sagori use my content to train AI models?
- No. Sagori does not train AI models on your content. We use third-party AI services to process the material you send and to help build plans.
- Does AI have access to everything in Sagori?
- No. AI only works with what a task needs: the material you send while it is being processed, your answers in an AI Interview, and, when a session is planned, the published insights that coach has access to, plus their own unreviewed work if they choose. Another coach’s unreviewed work is never used in your plans. We use third-party AI services for this processing.
Privacy and safeguarding
- Can I upload footage that includes players?
- Yes, but you are responsible for making sure you have the appropriate authority and permissions to use it. If the footage includes children or young people, you must also follow the safeguarding, photography and filming requirements that apply to you, your club or your organisation. Don’t upload or publish footage through Sagori if you’re not entitled to use it. Our safeguarding policy below explains more.
- Who can see footage I upload?
- It depends on what the footage is for. Footage you upload to be processed can be seen by you and by Sagori staff; if you filed it to a club library, that club’s admins can see it too. It is not shown to other coaches. A photograph or clip you attach to an activity is different: coaches who plan with your published content see it with that activity.
- How long does Sagori keep uploaded material?
- We keep your original material while it is needed to create and support your coaching content. If you no longer want us to keep it, you can ask us to remove it.
Safeguarding policy
Safeguarding children and young people
Sagori is designed to help coaches capture, develop and share coaching knowledge. Coaches may sometimes use photographs, video or other material that includes children or young people.
Anyone uploading this material to Sagori is responsible for making sure they are entitled to do so and that its use is consistent with the safeguarding policies, permissions and consent requirements that apply to them, their club or their organisation.
Photographs and video
Do not upload photographs or video of children or young people unless you have the appropriate authority and permissions to use that material for the purpose for which you are uploading it.
Where a club, governing body, school or other organisation has its own safeguarding, photography or filming policy, you should follow that policy.
This reflects current sports safeguarding guidance that consent and clear policies should govern the taking and use of children’s photographs and video.
Think before you publish
Uploading material to work with inside Sagori and making material available to other people are not necessarily the same thing.
Before making any photograph, video or other material containing a child or young person available to others through Sagori, make sure you have permission for that use, not simply permission for the original recording.
The Child Protection in Sport Unit’s guidance specifically distinguishes different uses of images and recommends clear consent around photography and filming.
Protect personal information
Coaches and anyone else uploading or publishing material through Sagori should not include unnecessary personal information about a child or young person.
Material should not be used in a way that unnecessarily identifies, locates or exposes a child or young person.
Current safeguarding guidance identifies the inappropriate identification, sharing and misuse of children’s images as potential risks.
If someone asks for material not to be used
If a child or young person, parent, carer, club or organisation asks for material featuring them or someone in their care not to be used, the coach or person responsible for the material should stop publishing or sharing it through Sagori while the matter is being resolved.
Reporting a safeguarding concern
Anyone who has a safeguarding concern about content on Sagori should raise it with us as soon as possible.
Sagori may restrict or remove the content while the concern is reviewed.
If the concern is about the safety or welfare of a child or young person, it should also be reported through the appropriate safeguarding channels for the club, organisation or sport. If a child or young person is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services.
Raising something with us
- How do I report content or raise a concern?
- If something doesn’t look right, raise it with us. That might be content credited to the wrong coach, something you believe shouldn’t have been published, a rights concern or a question about footage. A person will review it and come back to you.
Raise something with us
The knowledge comes from coaches. AI helps bring it to life. Coaches decide what gets shared.
